The Co-Chairs of the Tricolor Foundation, Constance and Daniel Chu, were featured in the Donor Spotlight of the 2023 Annual Report for No Kid Hungry, a national campaign committed to eradicating childhood hunger in the United States.
The spotlight describes how Daniel's experience with Tricolor Holdings drew him and Constance to the work of No Kid Hungry. The Co-Chairs were inspired by the organization's focus on supporting children in crisis while simultaneously leveraging public institutions and funds to create systemic change.
Daniel stated "What really resonated with us about No Kid Hungry was that, at the core, we know that essential needs have to be met in order for other things - like education - to be realistic. If their nutritional needs aren't met, young people can't achieve their potential - academically or in life."
Constance agreed. Speaking about No Kid Hungry's work, she said "You're doing more than feeding kids, you're serving the community. You're going deep into the root of the hunger problem."
The Tricolor Foundation recently provided a $50,000 grant to support No Kid Hungry's programs in Texas. In their 2023 Fiscal Year, No Kid Hungry's local partners served more than 504 million healthy meals to children and families across the United States. The organization also secured over $940 million in federal funding to help states expand the availability of school meals.
No Kid Hungry has significantly increased its efforts to support Latino families across the nation. They reached millions of Latino households through national media partnerships with Univision and iHeart Radio to raise awareness regarding summer meal programs and SNAP eligibility. No Kid Hungry also works with a wide network of Latino and immigrant-serving institutions like UnidosUS, the Dolores Huerta Foundation, Catholic Charities, and more.
The Tricolor Foundation is honored that No Kid Hungry featured Connstance and Daniel in their annual report and is proud to call the organization a partner in the movement to support Latino families.
