In a demonstration of its unwavering commitment to education and holistically supporting the Hispanic community, the Tricolor Foundation recently had a remarkable visit to East Los Angeles College (ELAC), a member of the Los Angeles Community College District. ELAC is a Hispanic-Serving Institution and ranked first in the nation for enrollment of Hispanic students at a community college in the 2021-2022 academic year. This visit, marked by collaborative initiatives and empowering conversations, underscored the Foundation's dedication to supporting institutions of higher education which are committed to serving the Hispanic community.

During the visit, the Tricolor Foundation had the opportunity to meet with the leadership of ELAC, including the President of the college, Dr. Alberto J. Román. This meeting laid the foundation for a partnership geared towards enhancing the overall educational experience for Hispanic students at ELAC.

ELAC leadership showcased their partnership with the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank to provide food distribution events to students and the surrounding community twice a month. The Tricolor Foundation also toured ELAC’s Latina Completion Center and heard firsthand how the center supports Latina students’ efforts to complete a degree, certificate, or transfer to a four-year institution. Additionally, the Foundation had the opportunity to tour the college's automotive program, gaining insights into the innovative initiatives shaping the future of education at ELAC.

As part of its commitment to supporting Hispanic students in their pursuit of higher education, the Tricolor Foundation has established an endowed scholarship at the Foundation for the Los Angeles Community Colleges. The scholarship is designed to support Hispanic students in the Los Angeles Community College District and serves as a testament to the Foundation's dedication to providing financial assistance to deserving students across the district’s nine campuses, enabling them to pursue their educational goals and uplift their communities.

The Tricolor Foundation's recent visit to East Los Angeles College serves as a testament to the organization's dedication to fostering education in the Hispanic community. Through collaborative partnerships and the establishment of the Tricolor Foundation Endowed Scholarships, the Foundation is actively shaping a brighter future for Hispanic students.
